By Basics use the finest mulesing free merino wool from well cared for Australian and New Zealand merino sheep. Merino wool is great for regulating body temperature, especially when worn directly against the skin which is possible with these fine merino layers. Wool provides warmth without overheating due the good breathability of the fibres. Wool draws perspiration away from the skin, without feeling wet due the wool keratin fibres which is both hydrophobic (resistant to water) and hydrophilic (water-absorbing).
Wool has antibacterial properties and is self-cleaning.
Each piece is hand cut so is individual and unique.
