Collection: Fair Isles

Always more to follow!

Fair Isle knitwear never fails to charm and its no surprise since its romantically believed, that the womenfolk of this tiny Isle, in the north west reaches of Scotland, perhaps offered food and water to a passing ship in exchange for knitwear knowledge. Whether it was Moorish or Viking no one knows but from it evolved  a style of brightly coloured intricate knitting that told a story of island life. Fashionable since the 1920s and still popular today, it's not hard to see why. All those colours and delightful designs with the enchanting notion that they were passed from seaman to fishwife, it's no wonder few can resist Fair Isle knitwear.
