Flower Power

Hi Everyone, This week, inspired by all the footage of previous Chelsea Flower Shows, we have gone full bloom. With hot colours and petal prints, we are feeling floral. Its a combination guaranteed to keep us cheerful.Janet has been paying particular attention to the Chelsea garden formula. She recently moved into her new house in Ulverston and has been developing her own slice of garden heaven since. She's four months into the project and we thought you might enjoy to see how its coming along. Until next weekWe are sending you love and flower powerRachael & Janet Browse the window HERE

Climb every mountain

Hi Everyone, This week something new to the 2x2 window. Australian designer and photographer Saffrine Nydegger, has cherry picked her favourite images from her global travels and transported them onto cloth to create a collection for the truly adventurous soul. When we saw them we couldn't help but want to follow, stunning images with fantastic colours, comfortable and versatile shapes and all ethically made in luxurious, responsibly sourced, natural fibres. In short fashion treasure. Are you ready? Lets go, we are heading high up into the Himalayas where the snow is crisp and the sky is blue and where colourful prayer flags flutter on the breeze. These flags are strung up as high as they can go so the prayers and blessings they carry will catch the wind and spread to all living beings.Until next week, take...

The Big Clean Up!

Hi Everyone, This week, with true land girl spirit, we strung up our bunting and started the big clean up at 2x2. Finally, all those jobs, that make a big old mess, are finally getting ticked off a list that has been gathering dust. The plaster and old paint has been flying and we've been scraping and filling and painting and cleaning and generally sprucing the place up ready for your return. A perspex screen will be installed next week and we are working on outside seating arrangements so when the time comes we can socially distance chat with Paper Bunny. This week in the window its all about the land girl style with rolled up sleeves, denim shirts and overalls. Dress for, checking the list off, success!Until next week, take care and keep...

In Print

Hi Everyone, This week we mark the first of Ulverston's missed Festivals of 2020. This time last year the flags were flying for Flag Fortnight, which marks the start of Ulverston's Festival season, and the doors to Printfest Ulverston were open at the Coronation Hall. We are going to very much miss the joy that Ulverston's Festivals bring this year, but we are not going to go without completely. This week we are grateful to Putzi Smith who has made a beautiful flag for the NHS which was hoisted above Two by Two by Chief of the flags Peter Winston. We are also enjoying a display of art by Angie Flynn, who was scheduled to be our Printfest Fringe window Artist (all the art is from our personal collection (we are fans!)...

Summer Knitwear

Its been 5 weeks now since we went into lockdown and I don't know about you but Im starting to feel like there is a strange new normal about things. Im digging the supermarket aisle dance that one does to avoid another shopper and I’m loving the circling of arms to signal a hug from across the street, but without doubt the best thing about this strange new lifestyle is the fact that the sun shines every day! Who needs pullovers and cardigans?! They seem to be as as dated as gatherings and parties. This never-ending summer might feel like the new normal yet somehow, we know we will need our knitwear again, don’t know where don’t know when, but we know we’ll need our woollies again on some not quite so sunny day.Until next week, take care and stay safeWith loveRachael & Janet  Classic buttoned...
